Baryons 2022 – International Conference on the Structure of Baryons

The 2022 International Conference on the Structure of Baryons, Baryons-2022, will take place in Seville, the capital of Andalusia, Spain, in the period of 7-11 November 2022. This conference series began in 1970 at Duke University. The Seville meeting follows the successful events in Glasgow (2013), Tallahassee (2016), and related-school in Seville (2021); and will canvass similar themes. It will highlight the physics of baryons and related subjects in astro-, nuclear- and particle-physics, developing our understanding of the spectrum, structure and reactions of baryons using all available tools. Particular emphasis will be placed on elucidating the role of confinement and emergent mass, key non-perturbative phenomena within the Standard Model. Recent developments at existing facilities and those anticipated from the next-generation will also be showcased.

  • Spectroscopy of hadrons.
  • Hadron-hadron Interactions.
  • Electromagnetic and weak interactions.
  • Hadrons at finite density and temperature.

Higgs 2022

We are pleased to announce the Higgs 2022 Conference that will take place in the on-site format.

The conference will focus on new experimental and theoretical results on the Higgs boson.

Latest measurement of the Higgs boson properties and recent theoretical developments in the Higgs boson sector, in the Standard Model and in physics Beyond the Standard Model will be presented and discussed at the Conference.

Contributions will be organised in several parallel and plenary sessions.

During the the Conference, the ten years anniversary of Higgs boson discovery will be celebrated with social events opened to the general public.

The conference is planned to be kept in hybrid format with a substantial in-person participation, in compliance with the relevant COVID-19 regulations at the time of the meeting.

International Conference on Quantum Technology for High-Energy Physics

Registration is now open for the International Conference on Quantum Technology for High-Energy Physics, which will be hosted at CERN on 1–4 November 2022.

Following CERN’s successful workshop on quantum computing in 2018, this is the first edition of the #QT4HEP conference taking place to further investigate the nascent quantum technology and its great promise to support scientific research.

Bringing the whole community together, we aim to foster common activities and knowledge sharing, discuss the recent developments in the quantum science field and keep looking for activities within HEP — and beyond — that can most benefit from the application of quantum technologies.

The event will cover a number of topics ranging from four quantum technology areas (theory, sensing, computing, communication), to collaborations with academia and industry, entrepreneurship, training and education activities.

There will also be a series of tutorials and hands-on sessions co-developed with companies and providers, to explore the fascinating field of quantum science to its possible fullest.

Rencontres du Vietnam: Flavour Physics Conference 2022

This meeting, normally held every three years, is intended to promote fruitful collaboration between experimentalists and theorists, between physicists in the areas of:

  • Searches for New Physics including the Dark Sector
  • Phenomenology of Physics Beyond the Standard Model
  • Beauty and Charm physics
  • Kaon physics
  • Tau and Muon physics
  • Neutrino physics
  • CP violation
  • Rare decays
  • Future facilities

from institutions across the world, by bringing together a limited number of particle physicists in beautiful and inspiring surroundings. A particular emphasis will be made on searches for new physics which complement direct studies at the LHC.

Expert speakers who will introduce the different areas include:

9th International Conference on Quarks and Nuclear Physics (QNP2022)

The 9th International Conference on Quarks and Nuclear Physics will be held at FSU in Tallahassee, FL, USA, on 5-9 September, 2022. This conference follows the series of meetings previously held in Adelaide, Julich, Bloomington, Madrid, Beijing, Palaiseau, Valparaiso, and Tsukuba. Experimentalists and theorists will discuss recent developments in the field of hadron and nuclear physics.

International Conference on Kaon Physics 2022 (KAON2022)

The 2022 edition of the International Conference on Kaon Physics will be hosted by Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, from September 13th to 16th, 2022. This conference continues the KAON series which was originated in 1988 and offers opportunities for theorists and experimentalists from the high-energy physics community to discuss all aspects of kaon physics.

BPU11 Congress: 11th International Conference of the Balkan Physical Union

The 11th Conference of the Balkan Physical Union (BPU11 Congress) will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, from 28 August to 1 September 2022.

Most of the sessions will take place at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts – SASA.

BPU11 is organized by BPU, local coorganizers from Serbia and the European Physical Society.

Members of BPU are the National Physical Societies of Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Turkey.

Traditionally, BPU Conferences are the International General Physics Conferences, open for participants from all over the world. The official language of the conference is English.

Higgs Hunting

The origin of electroweak symmetry breaking is one of the central topics of research in fundamental physics. The discovery of a Higgs boson at CERN on 4 July 2012, following a hunt that spanned several decades and multiple colliders, changed the landscape of these investigations and provided key evidence for the Brout–Englert–Higgs mechanism of mass generation through the spontaneous breaking of Electroweak symmetry.

Almost ten years later, the hunt goes on several fronts, in particular for:

  • New physics through precision studies of the properties of the Higgs boson: in particular its mass, spin and couplings to other Standard Model particles.
  • New production and decay modes, in particular in processes involving multiple Higgs bosons which provide key insight into the shape of the Higgs potential.
  • New Higgs-like states and signals for physics beyond the Standard Model.

The 12th workshop of the Higgs Hunting series organised on 12–14 September 2022 will present an overview of these topics, focusing in particular on new developments in the LHC Run-2 analyses, detailed studies of Higgs boson properties and possible deviations from Standard Model predictions. Highlights will also include a first look at LHC Run-3 analyses, prospects from studies at future colliders, and recent theoretical developments.

ICHEP 2022

ICHEP is a series of international conferences organized by the C11 commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP). It has been held every two years for more than 50 years, and is the reference conference of particle physics where most relevant results are presented. At ICHEP, physicists from around the world gather to share the latest advancements in particle physics, astrophysics, cosmology, and accelerator science and discuss plans for major future facilities.

ICHEP 2022 will be the first time of a ICHEP conference to be held in Italy and will mark a return to the in-presence meeting of the HEP community after the pandemic emergency, even if remote participation will also be granted to favour in particular people from countries still affected by mobility restrictions. The Conference falls just ten years after the Higgs boson discovery and will offer the occasion to celebrate this important anniversary as well as to make the point on the progresses achieved in this sector that opened a new window for precision Standard Model studies and Beyond Standard Model investigations.

Future Circular Collider (FCC) week 2022

FCC week 2022 will bring together the worldwide community working towards a world-leading high-energy physics infrastructure for the 21st century. The meeting covers Accelerator, Detector and Physics studies as well as progress on Technological R&D, ongoing placement studies and the assessment of its environmental and socio-economic impact.

Taking place in a hybrid format, the meeting will give the opportunity to share results, build new collaborations and solidify the vision of a post-LHC circular particle-collider. Furthermore, the meeting will offer opportunities to discuss and plan activities in the framework of the EU-funded H2020 FCCIS project.

The event will follow the traditional layout of plenary and parallel sessions with invited contributions. Plenary sessions will give an overview about the ongoing activities across all parts of the study and serve to inform study members about the updated boundary conditions from placement studies, the latest machine parameters and progress on understanding the physics potential that the FCC integrated programme can offer during its lifetime. Parallel sessions will focus on specific areas of the study. Satellite meetings for related projects and governance bodies of the FCC study will be included in the programme that is being developed. Participation of industry is highly encouraged as addressing the technological challenges of a new research infrastructure presents opportunities for co-innovation.

The work carried out in the framework of the FCC Feasibility Study will inform the next update of the European Strategy while can have an impact on areas beyond particle physics. Thus we invite novel and innovative approaches to address the challenges of the FCCs and contribute in turning them to reality. We strongly encourage colleagues working in the different areas covered by the FCC study to submit their abstract and posters.
