New Ultra-high Quantum Efficiency Photomultiplier Tube Modules Jun 23, 2010
Hamamatsu Photonics introduce a new range of high sensitivity small metal package photomultiplier tube modules with our unique, Super and Ultra-bialkali photocathodes.
Traditional bialkali PMTs, optimised for UV to visible light detection, have a peak sensitivity (QE) of around 25% at 400 nm. This has remained largely unchanged with gradual process improvements over many decades, but a breakthrough in our material research laboratories means that the super bialkali (SBA) and ultra-bialkali (SBA) photocathodes offer 35% QE and up to 45% QE respectively.
Our new range of PMT modules are ultra-compact, easy to use, compatible with our wide range of PMT accessories and supplied with voltage divider and high voltage power supply circuit as standard. Built-in current-to-voltage converters and photon counting circuits are also available.
