10.12 a.m.
At 10.12 a.m. the operations team begins to allow Beam 1 through to Point 8. During these first manoeuvres, LHCb’s sensitive tracking detectors are not switched on, but the muon detectors, calorimeters and the ring imaging Cherenkov detectors record particles produced by the beam.
