The conference Theory meeting experiments (TMEX-2023) will be held on 5–11 January 2023. It will bring together leading theoreticians and experimentalists to discuss forefront topics in the field of particle astrophysics and cosmology. This meeting will be organized in Quy Nhon at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in the spirit of the Rencontres du Vietnam, a series of topical international multidisciplinary meetings, created by Jean Trân Thanh Vân, which in the past covered many topics in physics, astronomy and biology. Lunches will be served in the Center to all participants, in order to enhance interaction among scientists.
The conference will consist of plenary sessions for invited oral presentations (both review and topical) and contributed talks. A special emphasis will be put on active participation of younger researchers and post-docs. A detailed scientific programme is currently in preparation; if you urgently need information which is currently not available on this site, you may contact Emmanuel Moulin (email) and/or Gérard Fontaine (email). This site will be updated regularly, as new information becomes available. The format of the conference will gather around 100 participants discussing subjects as:
- Dark matter: WIMPs and alternatives
- Dark matter: direct and indirect searches
- Gravitational waves:
- Gamma rays, cosmic rays
- Neutrinos
- Large scale surveys
- Cosmological parameters
- Future experiments/facilities
- Time domain astronomy and multi-messenger astronomy
This meeting, normally held every three years, is intended to promote fruitful collaboration between experimentalists and theorists, between physicists in the areas of:
- Searches for New Physics including the Dark Sector
- Phenomenology of Physics Beyond the Standard Model
- Beauty and Charm physics
- Kaon physics
- Tau and Muon physics
- Neutrino physics
- CP violation
- Rare decays
- Future facilities
from institutions across the world, by bringing together a limited number of particle physicists in beautiful and inspiring surroundings. A particular emphasis will be made on searches for new physics which complement direct studies at the LHC.
Expert speakers who will introduce the different areas include:
- Jorge Camalich (Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias)
- Mu-Chun Chen (UC Irvine)
- Giancarlo D’Ambrosio (INFN Naples)
- Javier Fuentes (Universidad de Granada)
- Stefania Gori (UC Santa Cruz)
- Shoji Hashimoto (KEK)
- Mikolaj Misiak (University of Warsaw)
- Phillip Urquijo (University of Melbourne)
- Roman Zwicky (University of Edinburgh)
In addition to having plenty of discussion, we will be producing a jointly-authored paper together during the conference which summarises these and the state of the field. We are looking forward to the participation of those who will be able to actively engage in the discussions and paper-writing sessions, and in turn believe that this will make for a rewarding and fruitful experience for all.
Since 1993 the Rencontres du Vietnam, which is an official partner of UNESCO, has organised international scientific conferences and schools to foster exchanges between Vietnamese or Asia-Pacific scientists and colleagues from other parts of the world.
2019 will be the 30th anniversary of the discovery that there are only three families of light active neutrinos. The theme of the XVèmes Rencontres du Vietnam will be centred on what we know today about these three families, what are the consequences, what physics might lie beyond, and how to access it.
